1. How do interpersonal and employability skills effect your everyday life and your future?
Interpersonal and employability skills affect our everyday lives and futures because they serve as our means of presenting ourselves to one another for different purposes such as applying for a job or a new friend.



2. What is graphic design and why is it important to communicate visually?
Graphic design is a type of art which serves commercial purpose as opposed to aesthetic purpose. It is important to communicate visually because our sense of sight is what gives us our first impressions towards anything such as a product or brand.

3. Why is it important to identify safety issues and to safely operate equipment utilized in the classroom?
It is always important to identify safety issues and to safely operate equipment because the average human being would not want to get injured, as it could hinder their performance in the workplace.

4. What are the elements of design and how are the incorporated into a design?
There are 6 elements of design which include Color, Line, Shape, Form, Texture, and Value. Designers always use at least one of these elements in each of their works in order to portray their message. 

5. What is Vector Based Design and how is it created?
A vector based design is a design which is created in a program such as Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop, and it is characterized as a design which is able to retain its shape/resolution regardless of the changes made to the size.

6. How is color used effectively in graphic design?
Color is used effectively in graphic design when the designer accounts for the functions of each color and attributes them to specific aspects of the message the design is meant to illustrate. 

7. What is a raster-based image and how is it created?
Raster-based images are pictures that can be found on the Web, or photos imported from a camera, and they are composed of a pixel grid, forcing it to have a larger file based on its size. 

8. How does the manipulation of size and resolution effect digital images?
If a small image were to be placed in a large canvas, scaling the small image would result in the image becoming low quality and extremely pixelated.

9.What is the function of the type within a design?
The type of  design provides a description or segment of text which adds on the the atmosphere of the design.

10. How do designers use a page layout program?
They use the page layout programs to organize posters or printed designs to put on products or advertisements.

11. What steps does a designer take to design a page layout from concept to final product?
Consult with their commissioner for what is required, sketch out a prototype, edit the prototype, finalize it, and print it.

12. What are the key developments in the history of visual communication? How did these developments shape our industry?
Some developments include the utilization of the computer in design, which broadened the spectrum of available ideas open for designers to use, including photo editing and faster access to work.

13. What careers are available within the field of graphic designer? What professions are associated with the industry?
Advertisers, Art Directors, Marketers

14. Would I want to become an Illustrator or Graphic Designer? Explain.
While the idea of being a graphic designer or illustrator is very appealing, I only see art as a hobby and seeing how my friends who are pursuing the art realm more seriously, I would not want to face the same level of stress they deal with, when my skills are already mediocre in comparison.
